Over 15 years of dedicated clinical trial experience
Our Philosophy
Our unique methods and processes here at BFHC Research have allowed us to efficiently conduct numerous studies throughout the years. Our recruitment process sets us apart from other clinical research sites that stand alone as we have the patient volume to fill even the most complex protocols.
Our Process
The patients that participate in our trials are seen by a Clinical Research Coordinator and Investigator at every visit to ensure their needs are being met at all stages of the trial but most importantly, to ensure patient safety. The relationship that we’ve established with our patients from the clinical side is easily transferred to research, creating a very trustworthy experience for all those involved and ultimately allowing us to retain a high percentage of study participants in long and short term trials. Our staff prioritizes retention by frequently contacting subjects throughout the study process and engaging them at every clinic visit. Education is also a priority as it keeps patients engaged and aware of the process. It is our goal to provide quality care to our patients and having these processes set at every stage allows us to focus and enhance the patient experience.

Patient Database
BFHC Research is able to identify potentially qualified subjects located in the Electronic Medical Records system database (e-MDs) utilized by Bandera Family Health Care as well as it’s robust research specific database within the site Clinical Trial Management System (RealTime-CTMS). Criterion matching reports are utilized to locate potential subjects meeting specific inclusion/exclusion criteria and multiple contact methods such as phone, email and TEXT are utilized to notify identified subjects of study opportunities. These combined databases and processes allow BFHC Research to consistently exceed enrollment targets.
Advertising
We partner with a full-service marketing agency, ImageBloom, Inc., specializing in clinical research recruitment. With a combination of general site marketing and branding as well as study-specific recruitment campaigns, BFHC Research is able to meet both short and long-term goals for subject recruitment. By establishing a local presence as a leader in clinical research, BFHC has built a robust database of research interested subjects with complete medical histories for criterion searches. We also utilize study specific advertising which targets precise populations in a defined geographical region, generating a large number of potential candidates for enrolling studies.

In addition, Dr. Reyes has conducted numerous trials over the past 15 years with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). He was also a member of the South Texas Ambulatory Research Network (STARNet) advisory board which is a learning community of primary care clinicians, staff and patients in offices and clinics across South Texas who participate in research to gain knowledge and understanding on how to improve the health of patients and their communities. Dr. Reyes still remains an active participant and is currently conducting trials with the various research groups.
