Born in Germany and raised in San Antonio, Harvonya Perkins has been in research since 2007 and as she would describe her experience in research is: “she loves what she does”.

She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 with her Bachelor of Science in BioChemistry and began her research career with Cetero Research for 5 years. In 2010, she became a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) by the association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).  Since then, she has been active in the leadership of the Greater San Antonio Chapter ACRP by serving as secretary and an educational speaker. She has been part of the BFHC Research Family since 2017.

Harvonya has a long history of being energetic. Her constant passion for research inspires the team to do their best for any task. Whenever her staff needs to ask for help, she makes herself available so that the team finds a solution together. She is compassionate, respectful and fair. She creates attainable goals for the team and provides motivation and inspiration to achieve them.

She previously taught at New Life Christian Academy for 6 years, 2001-2007. She taught piano lessons for 8 years at Lackland Music Academy. When she is away from research, she is an active member in her church, sings in the church choir and enjoys reading.
